Medora follows the down-but-not-out Medora Hornets varsity basketball team over the course of the 2011 season, capturing the players’ stories both on and off the court. The Hornets were riding a brutal losing streak when filmmakers Davy Rothbart & Andrew Cohn arrived, and the team’s struggle to compete bears eerie resonances with the town’s fight for survival.

Medora is an in-depth, deeply personal look at small-town life, a thrilling, underdog basketball story, and an inspiring tale of a community refusing to give up hope despite the brutal odds stacked against them. On a grander scale, it’s a film about America, and the thousands of small towns across the country facing the same fight. As one Medora resident said, “Once we lose these small towns, we can't get them back." (Not rated)

Owen County Civic Theatre presents ARSENIC AND OLD LACE , one of the American theatre's funniest comedies. Drama critic Mortimer Brewster is engaged to the lovely Elaine Harper... but will she fit in with his 'unusual' family? Abby and Martha Brewster are known throughout Brooklyn for their many acts of kindness and charity. But Mortimer has just learned that his charming spinster aunts have taken to relieving the loneliness of old men by inviting them in for a nice glass of home-made elderberry wine laced with arsenic, strychnine, and "just a pinch" of cyanide! What else can go wrong? Their brother believes that he's Teddy Roosevelt!

The Tivoli kicks off our "Beatle Blast Weekend" with a 50th Anniversary screening of the 1964 classic A Hard Day's Night. Newly restored by the Criterion Collection, see the black and white film pop like never before in this freshly released 4k digital version.

Meet the Beatles! Just one month after they exploded onto the U.S. scene with their Ed Sullivan appearance, John, Paul, George, and Ringo began working on a project that would bring their revolutionary talent to the big screen. A Hard Day’s Night, in which the bandmates play wily, exuberant versions of themselves, captured the astonishing moment when they officially became the singular, irreverent idols of their generation and changed music forever. Directed with raucous, anything-goes verve by Richard Lester and featuring a slew of iconic pop anthems, including the title track, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “I Should Have Known Better,” and “If I Fell,” A Hard Day’s Night, which reconceived the movie musical and exerted an incalculable influence on the music video, is one of the most deliriously entertaining movies of all time. Starring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr. (Not Rated)

For this special event, the Tivoli is thrilled to host Indiana's Marcy Cook to celebrate the launch of Marcy's new children's book, Nessy's New Home. Copies of the book will be available for $15 with Marcy available for book signings, and includes free admission to the film Annie for each family who purchases a book. All proceeds benefit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) For Children.

About Nessy's New Home: Marcy Cook has been dedicated to inspiring individuals to know and understand their value in the ways of Christ for the past twelve years. She has mentored one-on-one with youth, teens, and adults. Recently, when she and her husband attended foster parenting classes to adopt a child, she realized that there are very few children's books that focused on the transitional stages of foster care. Thus, she is embarking on a new endeavor to help kids all around the world feel valued and cared for during their transitional stages of foster care and/or adoption.

Owen County Civic Theatre presents "The Jungle Book" as their first 2015 children's theatre production. Come along on an extraordinary  adventure with Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in the jungle. With the help of his friends — the bear Baloo, the panther Bagheera and the python Kaa — Mowgli is learning to survive as they teach him about "Jungle Law." Does anyone know what will happen when Mowgli encounters the hooded cobra who guards the treasure vault? It’s always difficult to judge hilarious coconut-tossing monkeys, especially when they take our hero prisoner. But the jungle is also the home of Shere Khan, the dangerous man-eating tiger who has vowed to destroy Mowgli.

Join the Tivoli Theatre & Bloomington's PBS affiliate WTIU for the season 6 premiere of Downton Abbey. We're encouraging attendees to come in period dress for the final season premiere, which is set in January 1925.

Downton Abbey, the award-winning series from Julian Fellowes, spans 12 years of gripping drama centered on a great English estate on the cusp of a vanishing way of life. Nearly six years ago, America fell in love with Downton Abbey's Granthams and their family of servants, and has followed them through sweeping change, scandals, love, ambition, heartbreak, and hope ever since. With Julian Fellowes' crackling writing and its stellar ensemble cast led by Maggie Smith, Downton Abbey delivers wit, warmth, passion and a phenomenon that is, at its heart, utterly human.

Come early at 5:30 for quaint reception featuring tea & treats for a $5.00 charge.

Come see Duke Tumatoe in concert at the Tivoli! Duke performed at the Theatre in 2013 and now he's back for another round!

Chicago-born Duke Tumatoe is a musician/showman who has retained a firm career by fusing gritty R&B, rock, blues, and funk injected with equal parts humor and gut-level sincerity.

Tumatoe was a founding member of what would become REO Speedwagon. His tenure with that band was short-lived, leaving in 1969 and forming Duke Tumatoe & the All-Star Frogs. He spent 13 years with the All-Star Frogs, producing only two albums due to their grueling schedule.  In 1982, Duke created the Power Trio and has been performing with them since.

Throughout his illustrious career, Tumatoe has opened for several legendary figures in blues and rock, including Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, George Thorogood, Fabulous Thunderbirds, and John Fogerty. Fogerty was so taken with Tumatoe's performance, he produced the critically acclaimed 1988 live album I Like My Job! on Warner Bros. Since Tumatoe has put out six more albums.

Truvy Jones runs a successful beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies in the neighborhood have a standing Saturday appointment. Along with her anxious and eager assistant, Annelle, Truvy styles the hair of many of the women about town: wealthy widow and former first lady of Chinquapin, Clairee, local curmudgeon Ouiser, intelligent and compassionate career woman M’Lynn, and her daughter Shelby, the prettiest girl in town. Shelby’s engagement is the talk of the town, but the joy and excitement of her wedding quickly turn to concern as she faces a risky pregnancy and a myriad of health complications. As the women of Chinquapin makes their ways over life’s many hurdles together, they find comfort (and a fair amount of verbal ribbing) in one another. “You have no idea how wonderful you are,” M’Lynn tells the ladies at the end of the play. Truvy responds, with a smile, “Of course we do.”  This is a play that will have you laughing and crying at the same time! (PG-13, 165 min.)

It's four days before Christmas and the Tiny Town of Tinsel, Texas, and a colorful parade of eccentric guests arrive at the snowflake in and deck the halls with holiday hilarity.  Trina, the harried yet upbeat Innkeeper of this B&B, has more than she can handle coping with these nuttier than a fruitcake lodgers. Hoyt and his brother, Donnie Jo, make the mistake of trying to end a 30-year feud between their curmudgeonly aunts, Ennis and Della, with side-splitting results. Ainsley and Lenora, self-involved actors from a lower than low budget touring production of A Christmas Carol, this end on the end to fulfill a promise, leaving comedic chaos in their wake. Add to this Yuletide Mayhem and ill-advised romantic Rendezvous between Mrs. Claus and one of Santa's elves, a demanding guest who refuses to leave, not to mention that tipsy housekeeper, and it's clear it will take more than a kiss under the mistletoe to keep Trina's Spirits Merry and bright. But a spur-of-the-moment Christmas Eve wedding that brings together the fabulous Futrelle sisters - Honey Raye, Twink, Frankie and Rhonda Lynn - and their best friend, Raynerd, takes a surprising and delightful turn that leads to a laugh till your sides a climax, changing all their lives forever. You'll swear this family friendly Jones / Hope/ Wooten Christmas comedy is more than a joyride in a one-horse open sleigh. (PG-13, 120 min including intermission)
